2012 Will be Different from 2011….
2012 will be different from 2011, ONLY if YOU are different!
Put another way, “If you keep doing what you’ve been doing, you’ll keep getting what you’ve been getting.”
For those of you who have experienced my training, you have heard me say on multiple occasions that we can’t control the economy, the real estate market, the press, the attitudes of our buyers and sellers, etc. In other words, we can’t control what happens to us, or goes on around us, but we can control HOW WE RESPOND TO THEM!
Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we respond to it. How are you going to respond to what happened to you in 2011 and what are you going to do to make 2012 different?
I shared with our Gateway Realty sales team this morning that I suggest we assume that the economy, unemployment, the real estate market, etc. for 2012 will be similar to 2011. In other words, don’t hang our hope on things around us being different. Things may get better, but whether they do or don’t, it doesn’t matter—we are going to take action steps to make 2012 different!
There are only two things in life we can control—our ATTITUDE and our EFFORT. It’s not enough to just be positive, we must commit to take specific ACTION STEPS to produce productive results. What are your ACTION STEPS that you are committing to do each day?
To start with, I suggest you block aside a period of time to call (not email or write) your owners and prospects. How refreshing it would be for your owners and prospects to receive an old fashioned phone call from you, asking how you can be of assistance to them!
I assure you, if you begin to block aside one hour per day to simply make phone calls, good things will happen. Turn off your computer and cell phone, pick up the old school phone, and start making phone calls and focus on helping your customer. Good things will happen in the way of more sales, listings, and referrals!
