Don’t Miss This Market!

“You don’t want to miss this market!”


Every real estate agent in the country needs to be shouting this mantra from the mountaintop!


Psychologists tell us that we are motivated two ways:  Opportunity for gain, and fear of loss.  For most people “fear of loss” is the greater motivator.  But the great thing right now, both motivators are relevant.


Many markets have already hit bottom and are turning around.  Others (like ours in the Hilton Head/Bluffton area) are so close that buyers realize we’re close enough to the bottom that they should go ahead and take advantage of the opportunities currently available.


“You don’t want to miss this market!”


Everyone agrees that buyers are stealing properties at the current prices.  Share with your buyers, “Several years from now, you’re going to hear all the coulda, woulda, shoulda stories!  Don’t be one of these.  You don’t want to miss this market!”


In many cases, homes are selling for far less than reproduction costs.  This will not continue indefinitely.  In several communities locally we are already seeing much of the “low hanging fruit” being picked.  Prices may remain flat for much of 2010, and hopefully interest rates will remain low.  However, the better homes are being bought today!


If your buyers wait until later in the year to buy, they may still get the price they want, and they may still get the interest rate they want, but they won’t get their first choice in the house they want.  The nicer homes at the great prices are quickly being snatched up.  If your buyers wait, odds are they will have to settle for their second, third, or fourth choice.


Do your buyers a favor and share with them, “You don’t want to miss this market!”
