“It’s the same net event, it just doesn’t feel as good!”

I just returned Tuesday from doing a training session for Royce King’s fine team at The Litchfield Company.  A great team of sales professionals who do business the right way by focusing on their clients’ goals and objectives.

My training focused on working with sellers and helping them understand the reality of today’s market, and why it is in their best interest to price their home to the market if they truly want to sell.

I kept sharing that “honesty with empathy” is always the best way.  There is a lot I could write on how to do this, but today let me share a phrase I learned from my son several weeks ago when we were working with a homeowner who was considering selling and buying another home, but was having a hard time accepting the reality of what their home would sell for.

John shared the following:  “Bill and Sally, for years we all sold high and bought high.  Now we’re selling low and buying low.  It’s the same net event, it just doesn’t feel as good!”

That is so true and when I shared this recently with a potential seller, it was like a light bulb went on!  It is true!  It’s ok to go ahead and sell in this market, and then go ahead and buy what you really want and get it at a great price!

We are advisors and our job is to help our customers accomplish their goals.  Many times that involves giving them new information in order to give them the confidence to make a new decision and take action.

As always, let me know if I can be of help in any way.
