Loosen Up
“You can observe a lot just by watching.” Yogi Berra
A waitress asked Yogi if he wanted his pizza cut into four slices or eight. “Better make it four,” Yogi decided. “ I dunno if I can eat eight.”
You have to love Yogi! You also have to laugh when you hear some of his lines like, “ When you come to a fork in the road, take it.”
What’s the point? The point is LOOSEN UP! Laugh, enjoy your work and your life! It’s tough out there right now. Your customers and prospects are also uptight, concerned about the future, and are fearful of the unknown. The only way to loosen them up is to first loosen yourself up.
What do you read, look at, or listen to in the morning? I like to start the day off reading something inspirational. For me it’s a passage from the Bible in addition to a positive motivational book of some sort. You may want to put a humorous CD in the car radio on your way to work. Jeff Foxworthy works for me!
The point is, take a “check up from the neck up.” Make sure by the time you get to the office you are in a positive frame of mind and then begin to share your sunshine with your coworkers and guests. Smile before you pick up that phone to call a prospect, and they will “see” your smile over the phone! Make it a great day!
