The Brevity of Life

I just returned from the funeral of a client of mine and was reminded of the unpredictability of life.  Jim was only 60 years old, in good health, and died unexpectedly Sunday from a blood clot after a routine back surgery.

What motivated me to share this with you was the comment his wife made to me last night at the funeral home.  Diana said, “Johnny, thank you so much for helping us pick out the perfect homesite and convincing us to build here at Berkeley Hall.  Were it not for you, we would not have met all these wonderful friends,” as she motioned to the long line of friends waiting to give their condolences.

You see, Jim and Diana moved to Berkeley Hall five years ago and began to live the life they wanted to live.  They became very involved in the Club, made a ton of great friends, and thoroughly enjoyed these past five years with their new friends and family.

Diana’s words reinforced in my mind that we truly do provide a great service when we help folks buy and begin to enjoy life in our communities. Diana’s comments reminded me that what we do, really does make a difference in the lives of our clients.

None of us is guaranteed tomorrow.  If our prospects can afford to do so, please encourage them to go ahead and buy, not just because prices are so low, but more importantly, because they aren’t guaranteed tomorrow.

Diana is very grateful for the last five years of memories at Berkeley Hall.  How many of your clients will potentially say the same thing to you five years from now?
